With over 1.6 million cows in The Netherlands owned and operated by 18,000 dairy farmers there is increasing pressure to meet The Sustainable Dairy Chain 2020 goals to reduce greenhouse gasses by 20%, increase energy independence, continue improvements in livestock health and welfare, preserve grazing and protect biodiversity and the environment.

RTL & Bright invited local designers, business developers and engineers to participate in a unique event in the JaarBeurs 18-19 November 2017 to rapid prototype viable & sustainable solutions for dairy farmers across the Netherlands

Solution

Local media company invited local designers, data scientists, environmental experts, business developers, UX / UI specialists and IT experts to put their skills to the test to make smart and viable solutions to help The Sustainable Dairy Chain reach it’s 2020 goals. 

Using actual livestock data from the dairy farmers teams where produced working solutions to optimize life long diets of herd, create a web-based mobile app that farmers can customize and tailor to business or herd health needs, and big-diary data infection prediction app, and learn-by-sharing app for farming communities.
