How do you make recycling fun and engaging? By visualising city waste (open) data and utilising crowd sourcing technologies we can share information and insights in ways that were previously not possible. When we want to generate awareness about complex problems like urban waste, storage, flows, recycling, data helps us take that complex information and present it visually in ways that can effectively show us details that affect positive change.
Solution
XRBase is currently developing a Proof Of Concept (POC) for an augmented reality garbage tree that visualises city litter (zwerf afval) in order to raise awareness and change our collective behaviour to keep the city clean.
The purpose of the gARbage waste tree POC is to demonstrate the viability of the technical design and test social interaction. The POC demonstrates ways to visualise both city waste data (API’s) and crowd sourced objects (image recognition).
